Yoga Therapy

What is Yoga Therapy?

Yoga Therapists are trained in the latest scientific advances for the treatment of specific health conditions such as arthritis, osteoporosis or anxiety and depression.

They draw upon advanced biomedical knowledge and the latest evidence-based research to help clients with their needs.

In a different way to a class, a yoga therapy session is tailored to you. It considers where you are at in your mind and body, your personality traits, movement capabilities, as well as your long-term health goals.

Can Yoga Therapy help me?

Yoga therapy is for everybody. Whether you are wanting support with pain management or to improve anxiety, yoga therapy’s approach offers a path towards healing, through conversation and actions.

Yoga therapy is not a traditional prescriptive treatment where the client is ‘given’ a treatment, it’s about working together towards a wellbeing goal. Its process values the agency or voice of its clients, which means you are more likely to create and maintain healthier habits long term.

You don’t have to have done yoga before to start, although previous practice may help you more easily embrace some Ayurvedic teachings and principles.

A yoga therapist is a guide, advocate and teacher. Yoga Therapy sessions are tailored to you.

Working with Meagan you will be empowered to take your health into your own hands by learning wellbeing strategies to integrate into your daily life. These might include postures, breath work, meditative or mindfulness activities, chanting or sound exercises, visualisations and other subtle concepts to support you on a journey of self-discovery.
